He studied architecture at the Autonomous University of Mexico, where he received an Honorable Mention. He taught Architectural Language and Projects at the UNAM School of Architecture (1992-1998), Anáhuac University (2004) and the Ibero-American University, as well as giving lectures at universities in the United States and Latin America. After completing his first project in 1990, he founded his own Taller de Arquitectura. Throughout his career as an architect, he has designed and developed multiple projects, both public and private, as well as numerous ephemeral architectural interventions, art exhibitions and museography. Among his most important architectural works are various projects in Mexico City, such as the Centro de Invidentes in Iztapalapa, Oaxaca, the Centro Académico y Cultural San Pablo and the Escuela de Artes Visuales de Oaxaca. With the refurbishment and extension of the Anahuacalli Museum in Mexico City, Taller won the Mies Crown Hall Americas Prize (MCHAP).
