Calçada Santa IsabelThis meeting with Bruno Gonçalves, leader of the Roma community, aims to reflect on cultural diversity from the context of the city of Coimbra. The forms of representation and activism will be approached from a situated point of view, regarding what needs to be claimed by this community.
A Portuguese gypsy born in Coimbra, Bruno Gonçalves has a degree in Socio-Educational Animation and is head of the Letras Nómadas Association. He has a postgraduate degree from Lusófona University and is the founder of the Coimbra Gypsy Association. He is the coordinator of the Council of Europe's ROMED Program and works as a certified trainer of mediators for Roma in the Council of Europe. Bruno Gonçalves is one of the most active voices against gypsophobia.
