The volcanic landscape, due to its strong telluric dimension and proximity to the pulse and breath of the earth, is the chosen territory of inquiry.
This exhibition is a "diary of an expedition", a selection of analog photographs from the biographical archive inscribed on the body of Gil Mac, one of the performers in Cratera, a Circolando show, who decided to focus his research and part of the creative process on Fogo Island, Cape Verde.
The imagery is timeless, immense and poetically emphatic, transporting you to John Milton's "Inferno".
Lava roads and a deafening, passionate and fruitful silence.
Designer and performer Gil Mac develops his body of work at the crossroads between the performing arts and the visual arts. He studied graphic arts at ARCA, photography at Maumaus, design at ESAD, fashion at CITEX and theater at CITAC. She signs as Whatever™, publishes for Pandemonium™, collaborates with Circolando and Teatro do Frio, and is a member of the LOA Collective. He has directed NKISI, Caos™ and Nix™, and presented his work in cities such as London, Berlin, Warsaw, Lima, Goa, Macau and Hong Kong.
