Limites e Transgressões
03, 10, 17, 24, 31 MAY and 07, 14, 21 JUN, 18:00
Although the concept of transgression has been further developed in a very peculiar way by G. Bataille within the framework of the thought of eroticism, by M. Foucault in his reflections on sexuality and in psychoanalytic theory through J. Lacan (later taken up by other philosophers), these developments do not exhaust it, neither in its meaning nor in its scope. It is possible to think about the play between limits and transgressions in other contexts and frameworks, without denying some possible contamination by the thinking of those authors, both at the level of philosophical speculation and its transdisciplinary intersections, and at the level of concrete practices, both social and artistic. It could even be said that transgression can be seen as a phantom of liberty, if we understand the word phantom from its etymological meaning, phantasmata, i.e. the product of the activity of fantasy or imagination. This cycle of shared reflection exercises aims to summon these phantasms of liberty in the form of transgressions, with the articulated contribution of theoretical and reflective knowledge and mobilised creative practices. The programme will consist of eight conversation sessions (one per week) with various transgressors invited to testify to their intellectual and artistic provocations through self-reflection on their practices.
