“Time as motion is an illusion, indeed; time itself is an illusion. In the deepest sense there is only the dimension of timelessness, and in that dimension all things happen”

N. Scott Momaday, The Man Made of Words: Essays, Stories, Passages

Notes and sounds are a continuous process of expression and a way of tapping into an “extended present”, a moment bound only to itself and all others beyond time. By tuning and re-tuning the search and play begins through dancing of frequency and rythm, a process of the subconscious to be performed through eternity. This moment is but a fragment of all the others; still it is a moment of sounds and silence, free of “time”.

The 5 pianos represent five dimensions, and the performer is like a link between them, making himself an entity of an extended present, á sort of music in the dimension of timelessness.

Pianist, musician and composer Davíð Þór Jónsson is a wildly versatile and creative artist with a special passion for improvisation. Davíð Þór has performed in a number of ensembles as well as collaborating with many of Iceland’s foremost musicians, movie directors and artists — as instrumentalist, composer, conductor, arranger and producer. Davíð has received numerous awards for his music, including both the Icelandic Music Prize and the Icelandic Theatre Prize as well as international awards for his original soundtrack for Of Horses and Men.

Davíð's performances, improvisation and composition meet effortlessly as a creation of musical ideas and sounds. He is driven by the general passion behind creation of things, in what way they are presented and passed on to people - in music, arts and life in general. His goal in music is to never stop the childlike enthusiasm and constant creativity.
