Orquestra Geração | Sistema Portugal is a national socio-musical project developed by the Escola Artística do Conservatório Nacional de Lisboa. Since the 2011/2012 academic year, the Artistic School of the Coimbra Conservatory of Music has promoted one of the project's nuclei in this city. It is a musical collaboration initiative based on the Sistema de Orquestas Infantiles y Juveniles de Venezuela. It promotes the social inclusion of children and young people previously identified as having special educational needs, from socially/economically disadvantaged and/or unstructured families. The proposed performances follow the format of Pedagogical/Commented Concerts. The main objective is to raise awareness and educate audiences, creating the right conditions for them to broaden their knowledge of classical and non-classical music.
